Sara graduated from the University of Perugia, in 2010. During that time she worked in two Thoroughbred studs in her hometown predominantly with the yearlings and horses in training, gaining invaluable experience with the two-year-olds.
Sara had worked previously in Newmarket, for the 2011 stud season. Since then Sara has developed her interests in Thoroughbred work and spent much of her time working for the preparation of the sales.
Following completion of an 12 months Equine rotating internship at the University of Perugia, she performed externships in Newmarket, and Lexington, Kentucky, USA, followed by two years of Scholarship like Equine surgeon, Supervised clinicians to the Teaching Hospital of University of Perugia.
In order to gain more experience as a first opinion equine vet Sara worked in Marocco and Saudi Arabia. Then, she spent three years completing her PhD on “Tissue Engineered Constructs For The Regeneration Of Hard & Soft Tissues” which was the milestone that would later give her the chance to work as a first opinion Equine sports medicine vet, in Chantilly Training Center. Wanting more exposure to different medical approaches, she then spent three months in Flemmington Racecourse & Randwick and Rosehill in Australia before joining Valley Equine as an ambulatory vet in July 2018.
Sara is particularly interested in sports medicine, rehabilitation & equine surgery.
In her spare time, Sara enjoys traveling, painting, wood-art, arts and music (apart from daydreaming being a jockey).
